Charity project aims to understand how we navigate around our hospitals

A project funded by Nottingham Hospitals Charity is aiming to better understand how patients, visitors and staff find their way around Nottingham hospitals.

The study called the ‘Navigation in Large Hospitals Project’ is a collaboration between Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute at Nottingham University and Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust. It is funded by Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

The aim of the study is to identify the particular issues which impact upon both those visiting and working in hospitals, in terms of how they navigate such large, complex and often evolving environments.

The research group are looking for participants who have had a recent experience of Nottingham Hospitals and would be happy to describe their experiences in a 30 minute, semi-structured interview.

The interviews will be held at the City Hospital or Queens Medical Centre and this is open to patients, visitors and staff. Anyone interested should contact: Dr Nancy Hughes – Nancy.Hughes@nottingham.ac.uk
