Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme FAQ

Posted on: 22 Dec 2020

Our Christmas Tree Recycling scheme is back!

We have been overwhelmed by the support for our Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme– last year, nearly 1,000 households helped raise over £13,000 for Nottingham’s NHS hospitals.

If you have a question, check below to see if your query has already been answered. If you have any other questions or comments, please email hello@nottinghamhospitalscharity.org.uk and we will respond to you as soon as possible.

Please leave your Christmas tree at the front of your house by 8am on Tuesday 7th January. Please leave it somewhere obvious - if we cannot see your tree when we arrive at your property we might miss you out!

We don’t need to see you in order to collect your tree. Just leave the tree outside your house and we’ll take it away!

Unfortunately, it is not possible to book a particular time or day for us to collect your tree. We are relying on our incredible volunteers who have generously offered to cover all of Nottinghamshire. We will collect your tree from Saturday 6th January – just pop it outside by 8am that day.

With hundreds of registrations there might be one or two trees missed. Don't worry, if you think we've missed you out, please feel free to contact us by 5pm Sunday 12th January, and we'll happily come along to collect your tree.

No problem, just email hello@nottinghamhospitalscharity.org.uk or contact us on social media and we can double check your address is on our list.

All trees are being sustainably recycled by one of our generous Nottinghamshire-based partners.

You can cancel your collection by emailing us at hello@nottinghamhospitalscharity.org.uk. Unfortunately we are not able to refund you if you have to cancel.

All donations will be put towards the Nottingham Hospitals Charity ‘general funds’. This means that the money will not be allocated towards a specific ward or department, but will instead be available for any part of the four Nottingham hospitals who apply for a grant. Our grants application process is really rigorous, so you can rest assured the donations will always be used for something positive and important for staff, patients and their families. Read more about the impact of your donations here.

Fantastic! Please email joanne.burr@nuh.nhs.uk for more information about how you get involved, or visit our Volunteer page.
