Nottingham Hospitals Charity provides £50,000 to support the hospitals Just Do It award scheme to harness ideas from frontline staff. The Just Do It scheme gives frontline staff the opportunity to try out ideas which they believe will improve quality, safety and value for money.
Paula Ward, Interim Programme Director, Better for You said: “Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s continued funding of ‘Just Do It’ ideas is critical to the scheme’s success. It has already led to scores of cost effective frontline improvements for patients and staff across our hospitals and the flow of fresh ideas from staff remains strong.”
Hundreds of members of staff have been able to try out simple ideas that are making a real difference. From purchasing camp beds to allow relatives of dying patients to stay overnight with their loved one, to providing iPods for patients with dementia to help comfort them and conjure memories, and giving children the opportunity to decorate tiles to aid their recovery and brighten the hospital décor in their area.
