Staff from the Nottingham City Gate branch of Swedish bank Handelsbanken recently teamed up with insurance brokers Russell Scanlan to organise an evening of fun, fundraising, antiques and collectibles to raise money for Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
Clients and business associates were invited to bring their personal treasures along to the Derek Randall Suite at Trent Bridge, to be valued at an Antiques Roadshow-style evening. A wide range of items were inspected and valued by jewellery and antique specialists on the night, in return for a donation.
Anne Hardwick, Individual Banking Manager, Handelsbanken commented, “Whilst no Ming Dynasty vases or Constable Paintings were discovered, the evening showcased some interesting pieces, memorabilia and items of a quirky nature which provided speculation and excitement over their historic background and ultimate insurance valuations.
“It was a very enjoyable evening in the wonderful illuminated surroundings of the cricket ground, and we were delighted to raise more money for Nottingham Hospitals Charity, the chosen cause of Handelsbanken Nottingham City Gate”.
Staff at Handelsbanken City Gate have been fundraising for Nottingham Hospitals Charity for the last year, supporting the Building the Best Appeal for the children’s cancer wards and the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal. Last weekend an intrepid team of five of the bank’s staff completed a London to Paris bicycle ride, which has to date raised over £9,500 for the Children’s Hospital.
