Nottingham Charity wins East Midlands Community Champion of the Year Award

A new Community Champion from Nottingham is being celebrated with the announcement that Nottingham Hospitals Charity Chief Executive, Barbara Cathcart, has won Community Champion of the Year through the East Midlands Chamber’s “Enterprising Women” awards.

Leading a charity which has raised over £30 million for patients from across the East Midlands, the award represents an outstanding achievement and was presented at an evening gala event attended by over two hundred business and community representatives.

“Nottingham Hospitals Charity has been at the heart of care for patients for over ten years,” said Barbara Cathcart, who founded the Charity in its current form ten years ago.  “We support a huge variety of research, training and services from stroke, cardiac and breast cancer to the amazing work of Nottingham Children’s Hospital.  It has been my focus and privilege to lead our team for over ten years.

“I am delighted at this award which is also for the outstanding commitment of our entire team.  I am particularly pleased that recognition comes at a time when we have just launched  a major fundraising appeal for Nottingham Children’s Hospital for which we are aiming to raise £3 million over the next three years.”
