Nottingham Hospitals Charity gets new wheels

Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s Senior Fundraiser, Daniel Craggs, will be hitting the road in a shiny new Honda Civic, thanks to a kind donation from Lookers Honda in Nottingham.

Lookers have lent the car to Nottingham Hospitals Charity, to help them raise awareness of the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal. The red Honda Civic 1.6 SR Tourer features the charity’s information and the logo for the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal, which launched in July this year.

Daniel will be using the car in and around Nottingham at meetings and events to help raise awareness of the appeal, he says, “As Senior Community Fundraiser at the Charity I’m very excited by the Helipad appeal, I’m looking to attend lots of different events, cheque presentations and deliver community talks within the East Midlands about the appeal. So for Lookers Honda to donate this to us is amazing, it will help me travel across the community whilst also promoting the appeal and Lookers Honda themselves – we can’t thank them enough!”

“My aim is to cover all of the East Midlands promoting the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal as much as possible, I’d also be particularly keen to hear from community groups who would like me to talk at one of their meetings. It’s an exciting time for the Charity and a unique fundraising appeal that really can impact on people’s lives at any time.

Daniel will be taking the car to events in and around the East Midlands including the Great Nottingham Santa Run and the Wellow Maypole Winter Fair, so look out for him on the road!

Sales Manager at Lookers Honda, Tony Terry comments: “I came across the charity after taking part in the Robin Hood Marathon in September. We like to support local causes that benefit the local community and I wanted to do something to help the charity raise its profile and hopefully generate additional funds in the long run. By branding the car, I hope this will help to get the message out there about the importance of the charity and its campaigns.”

Terry admits he was unaware of Nottingham Hospitals Charity before spotting publicity about the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal at the Robin Hood Marathon. He says, “I didn’t know much about the charity before I did the marathon, so I hope this vehicle will help to raise awareness of the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal among other people like me in the East Midlands.”

The Saving Lives Helipad Appeal aims to raise £3m to build a helipad at

East Midlands Major Trauma Centre, which is based at Queen’s Medical Centre. This will get the most seriously injured trauma patients from across the region directly to the Major Trauma Centre, where specialist teams are available 24/7, to save lives.
