We’d like to say a big ‘congratulations’ to the three members of staff / teams at NUH who have made it onto the shortlist for our ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ award at this year’s NUHonours staff awards.
We had some great entries and it was a tough job to narrow it down to just three for the shortlist – thank you to everyone who nominated colleagues and all the members of staff who have worked so hard to fundraise for Nottingham Hospitals Charity alongside their day-to-day jobs at NUH.
The NUHonours awards happen every year and are funded by Nottingham Hospitals Charity, as a way to recognise and thank staff who have gone the extra mile to provide exceptional care. There are 16 categories, including the Fundraiser of the Year award, which goes to the member of staff or team who has gone above and beyond the call of duty by dedicating their time and energy to raise money for their chosen area of the hospitals.
The three people / teams shortlisted are: Stephen Henaghan, who now works at Nottingham Children’s Hospital but previously worked at the Major Trauma Centre and ran the London Marathon in aid of our Saving Lives Helipad Appeal; the Ward B3 team who have held several fundraising events for their ward, to help provide extra facilities and services for their patients; and Joy Weise, who works at Nottingham Children’s Hospital and has raised money for the Children’s Bereavement Service.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 13th November 2015, funded by Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
