Helping sick children and their families at Nottingham’s Children’s Hospital was the focus of this year’s Grand Prize Draw, organised by Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
After bringing in over £12,000 in raffle sales, the lucky Grand Prize Draw winner of a Ford Ka was revealed at Sandicliffe’s FordStore in West Bridgford this week.
Winner Pam Dixon said: “I couldn’t believe it when I heard I’d won – I thought it must be a hoax! It’s the kind of thing you hear happening to other people.” Pam, mother of two from Bramcote, is a Finance Administrator at Specsavers and earlier this year her car was scrapped, so her lucky win has come at a great time for her.
The Grand Prize Draw was launched in June and the star prize was a brand new Ka donated by Sandicliffe. Other prizes included two iPads donated by Jigsaw24; meals at Baresca, Oscar & Rosie’s and Hart’s; East Midlands Trains tickets; a hamper donated by Boots; and vouchers for Lost City Adventure Golf, Rollerworld and Force 10 Paintball.
Phil Lycett, Ford New Car Sales Manager at the FordStore said: “Sandicliffe are delighted to support the Nottingham Hospitals Charity Grand Prize Draw and we’re really pleased that it has raised such a great amount of money for Nottingham Children’s Hospital, where I know it’s going to have a really positive impact. It was a real pleasure to meet Pam and to hand over the keys to her new Ford Ka – we hope she has many years of happy driving!”
Nick Lawford, Fundraising Manager at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, added: “It was so great to meet Pam and to see her drive away in her fantasic new Ford Ka. We are so grateful to Sandicliffe and all of the prize sponsors and to the hundreds of people who took part in our Grand Prize Draw this year.
The money raised will help to fund improvements to facilities (for patients and their families), new state-of-the-art equipment, and additional services for patients, including the Youth Service and complementary therapy.”
