Training company raises £12,500

DC Training and Development Services in Doncaster raised a record £12,500 at their annual golf day at Forest Pines Hotel and Golf Resort, in aid of the Kinder Fund within Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

Over the past seven years the company has raised a staggering £54,500 for the fund, which supports the Children’s Renal and Urology Unit at Nottingham Children’s Hospital, at the QMC campus.

Darren Calow, Managing Director of DC Training & Development Services, and his wife Sandra started supporting the Kinder Fund when their son, Daniel, was diagnosed with a kidney disorder and treated at the Children’s Renal Unit, recently undergoing a kidney transplant at the age of just seven.

Twenty four teams took part in this year’s golf day and the evening’s events included an auction, raffle and an entertaining after dinner speech by former Rugby Union international Gareth Chilcott.

Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s Kinder Fund provides information, care and support for children with kidney disorders and their families; specialist research into causes and treatment of children with renal disease; residential holidays for young patients; specialist training for staff; and new state-of-the-art equipment.

Thank you and well done to everyone at DC Training and Development Services for their fantastic fundraising effort and ongoing support!
