Work at Nottingham Hospitals Charity

As one of the UK’s top hospital charities, we’re committed to making a real difference to patient care across Nottingham’s four NHS hospitals – and we can’t do that without our exceptional team.

We are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join us, so read on to find out more. Who knows, maybe you’ll be the next person we welcome on board!

What it’s like to work here

At Nottingham Hospitals Charity, we take great pride in our passionate and dedicated team. Working closely together on fundraising Appeals, approving grants and telling the stories of how support from our donors has made a difference, it’s a fast-paced and challenging environment but it is also a hugely rewarding place to work.

Our team is made up of three professional departments, who work closely together:

  • Fundraising – this team leads our efforts in raising money for Nottingham’s NHS hospitals. Working with patients and their loved ones who have been treated here, schools and other community groups, and local businesses on the doorstep of our hospitals, our fundraising team collectively raises around £4million a year for vital enhancements to patient care in Nottingham.

  • Finance – an incredibly important team of people, who work behind the scenes on making sure your donations go to where it is most needed. This includes approving and managing grant applications from NUH staff and dealing with thousands of donations from cheques, cash and online transactions.

  • Communications – responsible for sharing our latest news, heart-felt patient stories and exciting fundraiser updates. The communications team showcases Nottingham Hospitals Charity and the impact your support has made, through local media, written content such as magazines and letters, and online, through our website, social media channels and email.

What our staff say

Here’s what some of our staff members say about working at Nottingham Hospitals Charity…

Rebecca Taylor

FUNDRAISING

Rebecca Taylor, Individual Giving Manager

“It’s great to be part of a vibrant and enthusiastic fundraising team! Our jobs are challenging and every day is different, but it’s so rewarding and we always pull together to help each other out.

“One of my favourite parts of my job is meeting with donors and fundraisers in the hospital, at events and in the community.

“Often people donate in thanks for the, often life-saving, treatment their friend, family member or colleague received. It’s exciting to work with such motivated fundraisers who have unique and exciting ideas about how they can fundraise!”

Karen morley

FINANCE

Karen Morley, Assistant Accountant

“I’m part of a great team of people who all support each other and genuinely care. Even though my role involves a lot of number crunching, I still get to hear about the incredible and amazing things that people do for the Charity, and I also hear from the NUH staff about the impact of Charity Grants in their area of work.

“It doesn’t feel like ‘just a job’. The Charity funds everything from kettles to MRI scanners and research projects, supporting the staff and patients at NUH, and we are part of helping to make this happen.”
