Making a donation at Christmas
Want to donate items to Nottingham hospitals this Christmas?
The generosity shown by the community towards Nottingham's hospitals each year is truly heartwarming. While most donations are greatly appreciated, there are instances where some items cannot be used due to infection control, duplication, strict dietary requirements, and Trust policies regarding donated items.
Each year, we run our Grant a Christmas Wish campaign to raise funds for toys and gifts specifically for children and young people in hospital during the festive season. We collaborate closely with play specialists and experienced staff at the Children’s Hospital to determine the most needed items and ensure that the gifts we purchase have a lasting impact on our young patients.

If you would like to make a monetary donation towards this initiative, it would be immensely appreciated and your contribution will help us acquire items that will truly make a difference for our youngest patients this Christmas.
If you would still prefer to purchase gifts for young patients directly, please let us know, and we can connect you with the play team. They can provide guidance on what items are needed and help arrange a convenient drop-off time. Please note that visiting the children in hospital to distribute gifts is typically not permitted and donations should not be gift-wrapped.
Additionally, if you're interested in donating gifts to support our Santa’s Grotto or partner organisations that are hosting Christmas events to raise funds, we’d love to hear from you.
If donating items is still something you’d wish to do, we’d encourage you to consider collecting gifts for older patients during the festive season. Many older individuals may not receive as many visitors or gifts and we can provide guidance on items that will be well received.
Items such as soap, shower gel, warm socks, chocolates, or biscuits are always appreciated at Hayward House, Nottingham City Hospital’s palliative care unit. If you’d like to donate in this way, please reach out.
