Today marks the 73rd birthday of our NHS – and what a year it has been for our health service.
Our NHS hospitals have been here for us throughout the pandemic, with staff working tirelessly, and under challenging circumstances, to care for us and our loved ones.
Today, to mark the health service’s 73rd birthday, we’re asking you to ‘raise a cuppa’ as part of the NHS Big Tea – to celebrate our amazing NHS and to thank the hospital staff who have been here for us during this most difficult of years.
Louise Knight, Head of Fundraising at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We have been so proud to support the staff at Nottingham’s NHS hospitals over the past year. They have shown true care, compassion and dedication, in extremely challenging conditions. They have been here for us when we needed them most, and for that we are so grateful.
“Now we’re encouraging the people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to support their NHS on its 73rd birthday by joining together for a cuppa, and raising money for our fantastic health service at the same time.”
For every nurse working twelve hour shifts in a full-face mask. For every clinician fighting to keep our loved ones alive. For every hospital porter, support worker and paramedic putting themselves on the line.
Join us in making a brew to say thank you.
