Our Christmas Tree Recycling scheme is back!

Over the last three years, we have been overwhelmed by the support for our Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme– last year, nearly 1,000 households helped raise a total of £11,000 for Nottingham’s NHS hospitals.

If you have a question, check below to see if your query has already been answered. If you do have any other questions or comments, please email charity@nuh.nhs.uk and we will respond to you as soon as possible.

FAQs

I have signed up to the scheme – what should I do with my tree?

Please leave your Christmas tree at the front of your house by 8am on Saturday 6th January. Please leave it somewhere obvious - if we cannot see your tree when we arrive at your property we might miss you out!

Do I need to be in for the collection?

We don’t need to see you in order to collect your tree. Just leave the tree outside your house and we’ll take it away!

What postcodes are you collecting from this year?
This year we'll be out collecting from the following postcodes:

NG1, NG2, NG3, NG4, NG5, NG6, NG7, NG8, NG9, NG10, NG11, NG12, NG14, NG15, NG16, NG18

Please check your postcode is eligible before booking your slot as we are unable to offer refunds.
Can I request a particular day or time for collection?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to book a particular time or day for us to collect your tree. We are relying on our incredible volunteers who have generously offered to cover all of Nottinghamshire. We will collect your tree from Saturday 6th January – just pop it outside by 8am that day.

What should I do if I’m worried you have missed me out?

With hundreds of registrations there might be one or two trees missed. Don't worry, if you think we've missed you out, please feel free to contact us by 5pm Wednesday 10th January, and we'll happily come along to collect your tree.

I’m worried my registration didn’t come through – what do I do?
No problem, just email charity@nuh.nhs.uk or contact us on social media and we can double check your address is on our list.
What are you doing with the trees once you have collected them?

All trees are being sustainably recycled by one of our generous Nottinghamshire-based partners.

I need to cancel my collection – how do I do this?

You can cancel your collection by emailing us at charity@nuh.nhs.uk. Unfortunately we are not able to refund you if you have to cancel.

What is my donation being spent on?
All donations will be put towards the Nottingham Hospitals Charity ‘general funds’. This means that the money will not be allocated towards a specific ward or department, but will instead be available for any part of the four Nottingham hospitals who apply for a grant. Our grants application process is really rigorous, so you can rest assured the donations will always be used for something positive and important for staff, patients and their families. Read more about the impact of your donations here.
I missed out booking a slot this year, will you run it again in 2024?

Absolutely! Please follow us on social media, on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, when we’ll announce the scheme in November 2024.

I am a volunteer or company that would like to help, how do I get in touch?
Fantastic! Please email joanne.burr@nuh.nhs.uk for more information about how you get involved, or visit our Volunteer page.
