Our Christmas Tree Recycling scheme set a record in 2024, raising over £17,000 and selling out completely!

Posted on: 16 Jan 2025

As we wrap up the Christmas season, our Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme hit new records, raising over £17,000 for Nottingham’s NHS hospitals. This incredible success was made possible thanks to the people of Nottinghamshire, who chose to recycle their trees with us in an environmentally friendly way.

This year saw the scheme grow in popularity with collections being sold out before the closing date. Volunteers and local businesses collected around 1,100 trees, with 16 companies helping with the collection. The Christmas trees will be recycled and used across the local community, whilst  generous donations will help thousands of patients who walk through the doors of Nottingham’s hospitals each and every day.

Armed with vans and trailers volunteers from Alpha Construction, Alrate George, A.W.Lymn, Belvoir Energy, City Removals, Goacher Property Management, Hunter Douglas, Ikano Bank, John E Wright & Co Ltd, Maple Biomass, Mitchells of Mansfield, Near & Far Removals, Nottingham Rugby Club, Rotary Club of Nottingham, Shredall SDS Group, Thomas Bow, Nottingham Rugby, Tree Hugger & Son and Vale Clearances all took to the road and collected Christmas trees for over a week.

A spokesperson for the Rotary Club of Nottingham said “We always enjoy partnering with Nottingham Hospitals Charity for their Christmas Tree Collection. Not only does this initiative help keep Nottingham green by ensuring trees are properly recycled, but it also raises a significant sum of money for the vital work at Nottingham hospitals. We’re proud to support this wonderful cause that benefits our community in so many ways.”

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who gave up their time and braved the cold to collect trees on our behalf. We couldn’t do it without their support.”
