Hike for Hayward House this spring!

Posted on: 27 Feb 2023

It’s that time of year when cheery yellow daffodils start nodding their heads, and the feel of spring is in the air.

It’s the perfect time to get outdoors, soak up spring’s first few rays of sun, and do something active and rewarding.

This spring, we’re launching our Hike for Hayward House campaign – where you can walk, stroll or hike your chosen distance, in aid of our Hayward House Appeal.

It’s our sponsored walk with a difference, where you choose where, when and how far you walk, while raising money for our £1.5million Hayward House Appeal.

So it might be a daily stroll to the shops, a dog walk around your local park, or a hike up a mountain with family and friends – however and wherever you choose to walk, the money you raise will go towards supporting patients and their families being cared for at Hayward House palliative care centre.

Money raised will go towards caring for patients with terminal illnesses, including those at the end of their lives, by providing support such as complementary therapy and counselling.

Funds raised through the appeal will also provide improvements to the Hayward House garden, allowing patients and their families to spend precious time outdoors this spring and summer, as well as creating a warmer welcome area at the centre, and improving training and research facilities.

Lucy Dalgress, Community Fundraising Manager at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be launching our new Hike for Hayward House scheme this spring, and hope the people of Nottinghamshire and beyond will get on board with this important campaign.

“We’d love to see our supporters, old and young, take on their walking challenges in aid of Hayward House, which is a truly special place. Get in touch to let us know your plans, and we’ll send you a fundraising pack full of advice on how to get started.”
