Discount retailer Home Bargains has donated £2,000 to Nottingham Hospitals Charity, to mark the opening of a new store in Nottingham.

The store, at Riverside Retail Park, opened on Saturday 4th September, and staff marked the occasion by handing over the donation towards our Baby MRI Appeal.

The appeal aims to raise £200,000 for equipment to make MRI scans as quick, safe and comfortable as possible for the tiniest patients in Nottingham’s two neonatal units.

Donations to the appeal will help to fund new equipment and technology, including special head coils to fit into babies’ incubators, making scanning images clearer and aiding diagnosis, and software to cut scanning time from 30 to 15 minutes.

Marianne Burchell, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We are delighted that staff at the new Home Bargains store in Riverside have chosen to support our Baby MRI Appeal. It is so touching that staff at a local store have chosen to support patients and families right here in Nottingham.

“This donation will help us make a real difference to our very smallest patients and their families at a difficult time in their lives, and help Neonatal babies in Nottingham receive the best possible care."

Thank you to everyone at Home Bargains for their ongoing support.
