A new 5k run and family fun day will be arriving in Nottinghamshire this year, to raise money for Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
The Robin Run 5k and Family Fun Day takes place at Sherwood Pines on Sunday 19th
May 2024. The event includes a 5k run, one-mile family-friendly treasure hunt walk, and fun activities for all the family.
The event is being organised by Nottingham Hospitals Charity, to raise money for its Big Appeal for Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
Participants will also be able to meet the Charity’s Giant Robin mascot – a 3.5-metre high Robin Hood puppet!
Ticket prices start at £5 for children and £10 for adults, with special family ticket deals available too. The event is suitable for seasoned or first-time runners, anyone who enjoys a woodland stroll, and families looking for a fun day out. All participants will receive a special Robin Run T-shirt and medal.
All money raised through the event will go towards improving facilities for the thousands of young patients treated each year at Nottingham Children’s Hospital, which is based at the Queen’s Medical Centre.
Louise Knight, Head of Fundraising at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be introducing this fantastic new event in aid of our Big Appeal for Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
“There will be something for everyone – whether you’re a regular 5k runner, a family looking to get active, or just want a fun event to look forward to this spring. So sign up today, put the date in your diary, and start off 2024 knowing you’re doing something wonderful to raise money for poorly babies and children right here in Nottingham.”
