We’re delighted to announce that Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s Chief Executive, Barbara Cathcart, was a winner at yesterday’s East Midlands Leadership Awards.
Barbara was nominated in the Public and Third Sector Leader category, and her win was announced yesterday (22 September) at an awards ceremony at Colwick Hall, run by Business Desk East Midlands.
Her passion for the NHS is evident in all she does, and her hard work, determination and expertise have seen the Charity go from strength to strength over the past 15 years.
Barbara works closely with senior staff at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, to develop new campaigns and appeals for the benefit of patients and staff. She also meets regularly with fundraisers and donors from across the local community, to thank them for their support in person.
Barbara leads a team of 20 staff across fundraising, finance and communications within the Charity, and is committed to helping her staff grow, develop, and be the very best they can be.
Under Barbara’s guidance, the team at Nottingham Hospitals Charity has successfully launched and completed numerous fundraising appeals, including the Big iMRI Appeal, which saw £1.6 million raised for a new intra-operative MRI scanner to transform the treatment of children with brain tumours, and more recently our emergency appeal to support staff at Nottingham’s hospitals during the pandemic.
“I have a true passion for our NHS, and I am so grateful to all the staff at Nottingham’s hospitals who care for us all every day. The past 18 months have shown just how dedicated our NHS workers are, and this has spurred my team and I on to do the very best we can to support the staff and patients at our hospitals.”
We’re so proud of Barbara’s win, and of all she does here at Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
