We’re delighted to announce that Nottingham Hospitals Charity was a winner at last week’s East Midlands Business Masters Awards.
The Charity won the Community Impact Award for its work to support staff and patients at Nottingham Hospitals throughout the pandemic and beyond.
The win was announced at the awards ceremony at Colwick Hall on Thursday 21 October, organised by Business Desk East Midlands.
Barbara Cathcart, Chief Executive of Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be announced as winners of the Community Impact Award. I’d like to thank our fundraising, finance and communications teams here at the Charity, who have worked hard throughout the pandemic to raise money to support the dedicated NHS staff at Nottingham Hospitals.
“I’d also like to give my heartfelt thanks to all the individuals and organisations from across the local community who have supported our hospitals during the past 18 months. It’s thanks to them that we have been able to help provide special wellbeing services and facilities for our NHS workers here in Nottingham, as well as continuing to give funding for the benefit of patients from across the hospitals.”
Nottingham Hospitals Charity has raised over £50 million for the benefit of patients and staff at Nottingham’s hospitals over the past 15 years.
During the pandemic, we launched our emergency appeal and, through the efforts of our local community, quickly raised over £300,000 to provide a whole range of wellbeing facilities for staff at our hospitals – including sleep pods, wellbeing centres, improved rest areas and refurbished outdoor spaces.
We later launched our Long Covid Research Appeal, raising over £50,000 for vital research into this debilitating condition, taking place right here in Nottingham.
