From Barbara Cathcart, our charity Chief Executive

These are strange and unprecedented times for all of us, and most particularly difficult for those who serve us in our NHS. As we watch the news, our hearts go out to the doctors, nurses and vast team of support staff who are caring for a very high volume of sick patients at this difficult time.

Nottingham Hospitals Charity was formed to exclusively support patients and staff at the QMC and Nottingham City Hospital, and we believe this support is needed now more than ever.

It is our privilege and responsibility to be the Charity tasked with helping our patients, doctors, nurses and health professionals in our NHS locally and it is a duty that we are taking very seriously.

Our NHS staff are working tirelessly not only to care for the extra patients who are coming through the hospitals’ doors, but for all patients – doing their utmost to keep things running, in the face of real adversity.

We know many of you are keen to support your NHS at this trying time, so today we’re announcing our ‘Help Your Hospital Heroes’ emergency appeal

The people who help us are only human and must maintain their own wellbeing to a high standard, in order to be of maximum benefit to those in need. With your support, we can help maintain the wellbeing of our frontline staff through care packages and important wellness support, as well as providing extra equipment, as the need is identified and requested from front line staff.

Making a gift to Nottingham’s hospitals now will not only boost staff morale but also ensure that staff across our hospitals are able to face the coming weeks and months knowing you are right behind them.

If you wish to make a donation, please click here – however large or small, it will make a real difference to our patients and staff at this time. Thank you.
